Why EFT?
EFT (or Tapping) is a body-based therapy which allows the mind and body to become calmer by regulating the central nervous system. To do this, it sends a signal to the alarm centre in the brain, the amygdala, that it is ok to relax. As the body relaxes and the mind quietens, this gives us space to connect with a sense of wellbeing and to our inner wisdom.
EFT is a gentle process that meets you exactly where you are: it is a very accepting and non-judgemental technique. For example, if you are angry about something someone has done, we acknowledge that: bringing it to consciousness means it can be tapped on and cleared.
EFT allows you go deeply, as memories and past events that are keeping you stuck can surface once the thinking mind is quietened by the tapping. The tapping then helps clear whatever comes up.
The session can be done without needing to reveal any personal details, as EFT works with body sensations, metaphors, emotions, images and thoughts.
The Science
Why "Connect with EFT"?
- EFT connects you to your body: it is very grounding
- EFT connects you to sensations, thoughts, emotions, memories and feelings that pop up into our consciousness so they can be tapped on and cleared
- EFT connects you to the practitioner through mirror neurons, which means you get twice the tapping!
- EFT connects you to your innate sense of what is best for your wellbeing
What do we do in a session?

The ABC of Tapping
- We bring awareness to what is keeping us blocked. What’s going on? What’s the problem? What do we want to change?
- We bring balance by acknowledging that this is what is happening right now.
- We clear the energy from the block, by tapping, so that our relationship to it starts to shift. Often we gain a new perspective or a shift (maybe a lightbulb moment!) that helps us move on.
